Return of the D.C. Sniper

Just when you though you’d heard the last of the D.C. Sniper:

It’s been my favorite joke this week: The suspected D.C. Sniper may be behind bars, but he is still killing: killing dreams! Here’s how the story goes:

On my continuing quest to establish a music business establishment type thing in Norfolk, my realtor dropped a bomb on me last Thursday. He tells me that the property I have been interested in leasing is a “no go”. When I ask why, he responds that the building owner is not going to allow live music since there is a law office directly above the property I want to lease. After assuring my realtor I can sound proof the place so they won’t hear a pin drop, he tells me the lawyers are prosecuting the D.C. Sniper. What are the chances?!

Ah, who cares? It probably is a turn for the best. I don’t have to worry about my business being blown up in an act of domestic terrorism, considering a lot of people are pissed off at the D.C. Sniper. Now I can say the D.C. Sniper has directly affected my life…and he doesn’t have a clue!

Beyond that little antidote, I have been staying busy as usual: exercise, girlfriend, business dreams, computer consulting, & racking up on CDs.

Nothing too great has crossed my ears in the form of new music, except the new Diffuser album. It’s not as unique as the first, but hell, it be a good CD to own.

I’ve been going back old school, picking up discs by the Smithereens, Joe Jackson, & Uncle Tupelo. As far as good stuff that’s come out in 2003, this is all you need: Jayhawks “Rainy Day Music”, The White Stripes ” Elephant”, Jane’s Addiction, “Strays”, and Pernice Brothers, “Yours, Mine, & Ours”.

Well until next time, cut your hair.
