Come on October

I’ve been staying busy as hell lately:

I just put the finishing touches on Fifty Fifty’s new fall/winter food menu, with the new wine menu almost wrapped up. This weekend, my old roommate from Denver, Robert, is getting married in Newport News. I’m a groomsman, so that should be a hoot. I get thrown in a wedding every four years or so. Its about time for me to get my ass in gear and settle down, but alas, no such luck.

I’m excited now football season is back in swing. ECU is kicking ass right now. I hope they can hold on, and rock the season out. It would be nice to check out a home game this year.

Back in June, I was introduced to Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. This stuff is a phenomenon. Pour it on the rocks with a little water and it tastes just like grandmas, except its vodka! Easily the most dangerous liquor in years! Girls love it. Its selling like hotcakes at the restaurant, and I couldn’t be more pleased.

I’m slowly but surely getting Oaksmith Grille in gear. The architects should be working on some drawings as we speak. I just hope the sad state of the US economy doesn’t make my investors want to back down from the project.

I’m glad the air is starting to cool. I’m looking forward to a busy fall season at the restaurant. I’m also looking forward to some oyster roasts, bonfires, and throwing on a sweater and knitted cap. It gets me in the mood to play my guitar.

Until the next time, I will be watching football, enjoying good food and fellowship, and working out at the “Y”.
